Melopero FAN HAT for Raspberry Pi 4 allows cooling and limits the CPU temperature increase even in case of intensive use, avoiding processor slowdowns due to high temperature. Designed for the Raspberry Pi 4, Melopero’s FAN HAT requires only a very simple installation and a small assembly. At the start of the Raspbian operating system, the FAN HAT controls the processor temperature and automatically adjusts the fan speed to generate more or less air flow. This function, which can also be reprogrammed by the user, is designed to extend the life of the fan. The installation with the latest version of Raspbian operative system is very simple, just type our one-line-installer in a terminal window: sudo pip3 installs –no-cache melopero-fan-hat The Python3 code that manages the fan speed is open source and can be easily customized to suit your needs. The one-line installer will create a folder in the / home directory, called “melopero-autostart”. Within melopero-autostart you will find a sub-folder called “script”, which contains the fan_controller.py. You can modify this python3 file according to your needs. You can still use Melopero FAN HAT with an operating system other than Raspbian, as long as it has Python3, but you will need to configure the fan_controller.py script to run at startup (we do not provide support for this). Melopero FAN HAT uses the GPIO pin 18 to control the FAN with PWM. Included in the package: Board, fan, screws, bolts and mounting spacers. A small manual assembly of the fan and spacers is required. This product was designed for prototyping. Any liability of the manufacturer in the case of a different use is excluded.
